It's so easy for every culture to find reasons why "We are the Best!"

We're doomed if we can't get past that. We'll never reach our full potential if we continue to pull each other down.

100% correct. I'm an atheist, not by choice...but because I've done research independently and lack conviction that a supernatural world actually exists. I could be wrong, and that's fine. But I just don't personally believe.

That said, I'm a cultural Christian and always will be. Adhering to the tenets of Christianity and extolling its virtues and the necessity for it (or a near identical analog) to exist and have a central role in the west is paramount. Of course, at this point, all hope is pretty much lost anyway... but the video is spot on, and too many don't realize it. Even Richard Dawkins considers himself a cultural Christian though.

As an ex Christian I respectfully disagree. I think we need a general system of morality and critical thinking, and fear of eternal punishment from an imaginary god doesn't lend its self well to either.
