Where were you...when Western Civilization fell?

So glad I'm going back to work. This CERB is bullshit when all I wanted was my EI that Ive maxed out every year since becoming an adult. Now I'm stuck living off savings and getting $1000 month to feed a family.

CEWS is not CERB. It appears that CERB is going to be done shortly from this announcement.
CEWS is a wage subsidy for the companies that shut down completely, but were willing to retain their staff and pay 25% of their wages rather than lay them off and put them on CERB.
This announcement is an indication that the government isn't willing to spend much more after the credit downgrade.
They're phrasing it like they're transitioning to re-opening for the sake of optics but barely any companies used the CEWS while tons of Canadians used the CERB (whether they qualified or not) which means that only one of those programs is affordable going forward.
This will get interesting fast. I'd guess that they're swapping the perfidious NDP for either the Bloc or the CPC. Either way, pogey summer is about to end for many people.
