22 Minutes is a comedy show. They're not making fun of him for having COVID-19. They're saying that having COVID-19 is the most interesting thing about him. Because he's boring and lacks charisma. Being boring and uncharismatic is not necessarily a death sentence. Stephen Harper was also boring and uncharismatic too but managed to be Prime Minister for over 9 years because the Liberal Party was a train wreck then and appears to be heading in that direction now.
Rosemary Barton put Chrystia Freeland in the hot seat on The National asking her some tough questions about the budget deficit and Chrystia Freeland got defensive. CBC do take shots at the Liberals as well. A CBC comedy show poking fun at Erin O'Toole's lack of charisma doesn't mean that the entire network shills for the Liberal Party. The truth is Erin O'Toole does seem like a ho hum guy that lacks charisma. He's the leader only because the conservative wing of the party didn't want Peter MacKay. And the Red Tory wing of the party doesn't want Leslyn Lewis/Derek Sloan. So he is the ho hum compromise vote.
If you want media that never says anything negative about the Conservative Party and only says negative things about the Liberals, there's Post Media (including Post Millennial) and Rebel News. As much as I disagree with the takes on CBC, they do try to be neutral. They've put the Liberal Party in the hot seat many times. CBC is far more non-partisan than MSDNC, CNN and Fox News. I was also shocked at how hard PBS Frontline went after Joe Biden in a recent show of theirs. Even though the Republicans paint PBS as being a radical left channel. Public broadcasting generally attempts to be non-partisan.
I only have one challenge to your conjecture.
Where is the Conservative content on CBC?
It does not exist.
CBC is representing one set of doctrine and that has no place in a democracy.
