I’m so glad I left. My daughter leaves to the US in August and we are done!

The charter only protects you if you don’t get a lefty judge who is scared to go outdoors. Judgements to date dealing with charter rights under covid haven’t been very supportive of the charter. But yes, walk out and challenge it. Make the government argue that someone that tested negative before flying is a bigger risk than someone driving across the border. That an air traveler is more dangerous than a regular person that tests positive and is simply told to stay home. Where I see a potential issue is courts supporting the government narrative that variants are bad and can only be imported by air travelers.

Don’t underestimate the ability of the check in people to get things wrong. If you are going somewhere not too common be prepared. Bring along printouts of the destination’s rules and requirements and be prepared to educate the check-in people. For my Indonesian check in we had the rules, printed visas, everything. The attendant had no idea. But he finally got a senior supervisor to weigh in who was on the ball. And if possible, avoid Air Canada.

I flew to Brazil twice (Sept and Dec) and Indonesia two weeks ago. I haven’t entered Canada since the hotel stay was implemented. Returning to Canada I had to list a place for quarantine when I arrived back in November and Jan and I had to complete the page on the ArriveCAN app.

On departure the airline will require you to show that you meet the entry requirements for your destination country. For Brazil it was easy because there were none at the time.

For Indonesia I had to have a negative PCR test result, a reservation at a quarantine hotel, and proof of admissibility (in my case a valid visa). I also had to complete the Indonesian online form on their app.

It’s easy. Just give yourself extra time because it can take a little longer to check in.

Under JT women are losing their identity. Such a feminist.

When I was in Canada (I left two weeks ago) I took Vit D daily. Now I am taking less but walking on the beach for an hour or two every day.

Both my wife and I are in such better spirits. We spent three months from Jan to Apr stuck at home, in Quebec, cold and with little to do. I am convinced the shut downs do little (except perhaps help the virus spread indoors). Mental health is certainly not helped by either winter or staying inside.

Yeah sure. They are probably 95 years old and dying from old age.

Move. Leave Canada. Go to Asia or South America. There are still sane places there.

Mine are brown actually. I guess that makes them ok.

For all of you celebrating the flight ban, did you notice it applies only to direct flights from India and Pakistan. It does not prevent people from the infected areas from entering Canada by taking connecting flights. So passengers can still come from India and Pakistan by flying thru gateway cities like Dubai, Doha, Istanbul or various European cities. Don’t give the government too much credit. (By the way, I transited thru Doha two weeks ago - the airport was full of passengers from India. Just saying. ).

It was lost a long time ago. Too much government. People come to rely on assistance. People lose drive. They lose ambition. They want to be taken care of. People that want to make money and succeed are derided as materialistic and selfish. I left many years ago because I found the people so lame. Now when I visit I find people even more dependent on government. “Listen to the government - they’ll take care of you”. Fuck off!

There are. I got one last week to take the ferry crossing over from Java to Bali. I didn’t feel too bad about it because my legit one was just one day expired. (And I had three negative tests in 6 days.)

Why are so many women so internally ugly and insecure? All they can do is tear down men. It’s disgusting. I wouldn’t touch her with a 39 and a half foot pole.

Notice how emissions growth is projected to be so dire this year when compared with 2020, when virtually everything was shut down.

The r/Canada sub asked whether the current restrictions are justified. No points for guessing what everyone says.

Well, you would then join the other jurors in that regard. Except I think you would opposite them.

Check out legalinsurrection dot com for Andrew Branca’s analysis of the trial. It’s very good.

You don’t even get to a s.1 analysis. The right to cross provincial borders is limited to moving or working. Not visiting, tourism or shopping. Here is the relevant text:

  1. (2) Every citizen of Canada and every person who has the status of a permanent resident of Canada has the right:

a. to move to and take up residence in any province; and

b. to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in any province.

So unless a province keeps you out when you want to move or work you have no mobility rights.

Nonsense. It’s today’s youth that can’t stand up for anything important. They’ll protest for LGBT and BLM matters but where there own freedom is involved they cave. Like this virus.
