The fiasco surrounding the Astra Zeneca shot should make everyone reluctant to participate in this ridiculous vaccine experiment. But 70% or more of the people are so scared shitless of dying from Covid that they have lost the ability to think rationally.
One another note: why don’t the people who make memes proofread their work? Form/from?
We can read the definition - it describes prejudice, discrimination or antagonism. (I think the inclusion of the phrase “typically one that is a minority or marginalized” is unnecessary.) The issue is in the interpretation of the definition. For example, citing official crime statistics of certain ethnic groups clearly would not be racist. Yet many people would still consider it racist. That is the crap that needs to be avoided. Don’t play the racism card simply to shut people up.
If you are in Quebec you call up a private clinic and see the doctor. You can often get same day appointments. You see the doc and pay the bill. If you have insurance you can make a claim. I use these clinics when in need to see a doctor when I am visiting Canada. Pretty good.
But is the issue forced vaccinations? From what I understand the government is simply floating a requirement to be vaccinated in order to do certain things. This is where I have difficulty seeing a s.7 argument being successful. It may well come down to how many restrictions (and the severity of the restrictions) are placed on one’s liberty for not being vaccinated. To support their position the government will rely on other valid restrictions placed on people who have not had certain more conventional vaccines. The debate may then shift to whether forcing a person to have an experimental vaccine in order to enjoy liberty and security is reasonable. Not a slam dunk by any stretch.
CBC should send reporters into a church. The churches I attend when I am in Montreal are filled with Filipinos, South Asians, Africans and Central Americans. Whites are a minority. And this is basically what the entire community will look like in a generation or two.
My kids are Canadians. They can study in Canada if they want. Anyway, you can be another Canadian supremacist who shits on every place that isn’t Canada, thinking Canada is some type of utopia, without actually having seen much of the world.
Talking about averages. - who cares? Take a look at Canada. Why would anyone want to be in the average there? I certainly don’t. I’ve worked my way above the ‘average.’ That’s another Canadian quality that drives me nuts: let’s strive to be average, to be mediocre, to be third or fourth place. No thanks. I’ll take above above average in Canada, Brazil or Indonesia. Where in Canada is average good? Nowhere. It’s average.
And in terms of demographics have you noticed Canada? The selling point for Ontario is the ever increasing percentage of foreign born residents. And Quebec? Ethnic ghettos all around Montreal. No identity. No patriotism. No cohesion. No thanks.
Canada has some good points. But it isn’t the best place in the world. It has terrible leadership, many urban areas are falling apart, the healthcare system is not great, taxes are high, the weather is shit. One must weigh the good with the bad. I did and I left. It’s easy to rag on other places. But pointless if the good and the bad of a place can’t be assessed objectively.
I was under the impression travelers were required to show proof of a paid reservation at a quarantine hotel as a condition to checking in for a flight to Canada. Is this incorrect? I’ll likely be traveling to Canada in August and won’t stay at a crummy hotel.
Typical leftist nonsense labelling people with words that are out of context. I'd say 99.9% of those opposed to the covid vaccines are not "anti-vaxxers." Most have probably had many vaccines. This group of people is against these particular vaccines. That hardly makes one an "anti-vaxxer." Idiots.
São Paulo is a great place. If it’s the biggest shithole you’ve ever lived in you haven’t lived in a lot of places. There are very nice areas, jardims, Vila Olimpia, Moema, Brooklin to name a few. As I mentioned, infrastructure, food, culture, weather, etc beats any Canadian city. That is of course assuming one has a decent job and makes some decent money. The houses and apartments are much better as well. I don’t know when you lived there or for how long - were you in a favela? As for healthcare, the private healthcare in SP is hands down better than anything offered in Canada: quick, modern, thorough. Sure you have to pay for it, but that is why insurance is available, like most places in the world.
Anyway, you can enjoy Brampton. I prefer Bali.
And in terms of economic dynamism and opportunities both Brazil and Indonesia offer ambitious, smart go-getters many more opportunities than Canada.
They need to stop with this nonsense. People should vote in person unless certifiably unable to do so. Even ‘third world’ emerging democracies that Canadians and other westerners like to look down on and preach to have more sound election rules.
It’s working.
People have succumbed.
A commenter on a news site the other day suggested Quebeckers had ‘earned’ the right to have restrictions relaxed. I commented that it was a sad day when people felt they had to earn their rights.
Folks I know are starting to say their political leaders have done a good job! After 15 months of disastrous performance people now see the leaders as heroes because things aren’t as bad as they once were. Stockholm syndrome?
This comes as a result of people having been beaten up for months.
He doesn’t have a genuine bone in his body. He’d sell out his mother for political gain. Not a surprise.
