It's funny the gender-confused gamers on reddit knock Texas for its issues with covid and point the finger at white "anti-vaxxer" Republicans, but I think this video demonstrates why covid numbers are what they are.

Are they fleeing to Mexico now?

PPC is far right

Same accusation made about the Reform Party. How did that work out?

I found an article that suggests six ridings assuming that half of the PPC voters would have otherwise supported the CPC. Perhaps. But considering 65% of the country is left-leaning and the NDP essentially prevents us from having a perpetual Liberal regime, the CPC losing a few close ridings because of the PPC is not a big deal.

Polls were always wrong in the past for the Greens until maybe the last two elections. They would be at 5% or 6% and only end up with at most 2% of the vote. I suspect the same will be for the PPC, at most they'll get 3% and maybe cost the CPC one or two close ridings. If anything it's disillusioned Greens shifting support to the Liberals that will get Trudeau re-elected. Kinsella of course would never blame her, though, if it happens.

As long as it's their own personal choice, that's their problem, not mine.

The fact that he attended UOIT should be a red flag.

Here's his position on residential schools:

As the discovery and investigation is ongoing, we must remember how recently the residential school calamity ended. Furthermore, we must keep in mind how today's Liberal-run government continues to impose poor treatment on many Indigenous communities to this day, as many unacceptably resemble third-world countries with inadequate access to clean water. Mere solidarity isn't enough, because in order to properly reach reconciliation, we must work on solving the issues of today. I will explore options to end the paternalistic "Indian Act" shackling Indigenous peoples into dependency and permitting the federal government to control most of their lives; and replace it with a new legal framework guaranteeing equal rights and responsibilities to Indigenous people as Canadians, while promoting the self-reliance of communities. This also includes promoting the establishment of individual property rights on reserves so as to empower its residents, and give them increased control over their lives. https://www.yorkregion.com/news-story/10469029-here-s-how-vaughan-woodbridge-candidates-answered-questions-on-the-aftermath-of-residential-schools/

I doubt the PPC will split the conservative vote anywhere. Green support is probably shifting to the Liberals. I'm guessing there won't be much change and we'll probably get stuck with another Liberal minority.

And then you hear about how "racialized" people are disproportionately at risk.

Same hospital that constructed a tent facility for treating covid patients, never used it, then dismantled it.

This is literally 1000000-times less concerning than China threatening that Canadians should vote for the Liberals.

Yeah, in theory.

Conservatives were a distant third last time, so all these people had to do was vote anything other party except Liberal.

Mine was farther away and located in a small room. They were only allowing in a few people at a time so there was a long line up and wait outside. I'm assuming they consolidated several advanced polling locations so who knows how many people passed through on a given day. No problem for the voter, but what about the workers if they're so concerned about safety. Were they expecting everyone to stay home and mail in their votes?

These people mock "anti-vaxxers" of being ignorant and incapable of understanding the science, yet the promote a number of falsehoods, including:

  1. Every unvaccinated person is someone who is opposed to vaccines. In fact some are unable to get it for a variety of reasons.
  2. Every unvaccinated person will end up in hospital if they get covid. In fact the vast majority of people under 60 will have a mild case or be asymptomatic and will not end up in hospital, even if they get the Indian variant.
  3. Hospitals are filling up with young people and they're at greater risk of dying. In fact younger people are generally not dying of covid, there's only been a slight increase for people aged 40 to 59.
  4. Being vaccinated means full protection and immunity. In fact effectiveness is wearing off and for some people vaccines provides no protection because of underlying health issues.
  5. Comorbidities is an "anti-vaxxer" myth. In fact comorbidities are a significant contributing factor that have been discussed in numerous peer reviewed scientific journals.
  6. Unvaccinated all pose a risk. In fact unvaccinated people may have immunity due to recovery from covid and so may have equal or more protection and less likely to spread covid than fully vaxxed people.
  7. Vaccines are contributing lower case counts. Explain Israel, which has high case counts despite high vaccination rate, or India which has relatively low case counts despite low vaccination rate. India in fact overcame the last wave without the help of vaccines and possibly in part with the help of ivermectin.

Do you really think NATO would support Canada is a conflict over the arctic against either China or Russia? Don't count on it.

And yet when I looked at and searched the article it wasn't there, otherwise I would not have started the topic.

I did, searched the article with the name "Aliyan" and searched the entire CBC site and he wasn't named.
