I think York Region gets locked down effective Monday. York Region had 217 new cases today and is approaching 100 weekly cases per 100,000 people (99 per 100,000). I think that's the magical threshold for full lockdown. When Doug Ford hinted at new restrictions for Peel and Toronto, that was Wednesday November 18th I believe. He made the announcement Friday November 20 and the full lockdown went into effective Monday November 23rd. And on the 18th Toronto had 118 weekly cases per 100,000.
York Region pushed back a couple weeks ago as well. Deputy Mayor of Richmond Hill Carmine Perrelli and York's MOH both lobbied against a full lockdown.
I think the only reason why Ford locked down Peel and Toronto is because Peel MOH Dr. Lawrence Loh, Toronto MOH Dr. Eileen de Villa and mayors John Tory (Toronto), Bonnie Crombie (Mississauga) and Patrick Brown (Brampton) said, "lock us down daddy, lock us down daddy!"
The Ford name is mud in Etobicoke now. Good luck getting re-elected, you asshat.
