If I remember correctly, some mid tier commander thought they would look cool to carry weapons in the parade.
If they where marching, with their rifles slung on their back, or held to their shoulders with the barrel up that would be one thing. But these soldiers where holding their rifles in a ready position. They where not marching, they where on patrol.
First off, nope, not ever.
Second, how the fuck did they get to march with those rifles? Who said "please, take these guns out and wander around with them"?
I'd love someone in the CF to tell me why I'm wrong, because it seems that a non-official parade would preclude them from drawing their weapons.
