Scientifically, the masks are cosmetic face diapers. They do reduce expellate vapour and saliva/mucus but anyone with symptoms should be self isolating anyways. Furthermore, since the masks do not stop the virus, they are actually a risk if worn improperly/ too long.
This means that they are cosmetic choices and can not be discriminated against. You cant tell people with turbans, blue hair, tasteful piercings that they cant come into semi-public settings unless they conform to a base norm. So why cosmetic face diapers?. I didnt grow/groom my beard to hide it beneath a mask. Every Canadian has a CHARTER right to reasonable self-expression and I'd love to test this premise in civil court.
Formula as follows:
Find people who have recovered from covid and are healthy and immune with documentarion.
Send them into big corp businesses and govt offices without masks. Get harassed, ticketed, forced to leave.
File a class action lawsuit. Win.
You'd love to test that premise in civil court? I admire your zeal but I do not share your faith in our institutions. Anyhow, the real power is with the people, not the courts. Our charter is a joke, a fat middle finger to the people, because there are provisions that allow the government to legally bypass the whole thing. Name a charter right that isn't violated by all this COVID nonsense, it'll be faster.
It’s nice to see someone acting reasonably and rationally. This is the best approach to change minds.
However, I fear we’re on a dangerous path. People need face to face interaction to adjust their perspectives, we need to take into account the emotional impact we have on the individuals in our lives. We temper our views based on this feedback. Right now, everyone is being tilted in the direction they already lean, and all perspective comes through a screen. Polarization is mounting, the mainstream views you as anti science if you even question wearing a mask, regardless of any studies or evidence you point to.
The middle ground is rapidly vanishing and once inflation and economic fallout starts taking hold, I fear this is going to escalate violently.

Our Supreme Court isn't as partisan as the Americans.
O boy, you’re in for a rude awakening. courts have already stricken down freedoms from people over covid
