Doug Ford is a pussy. I live in Peel, the COVID hotspot of Ontario (until Windsor-Essex took the crown from us recently) and the hospitals are not overwhelmed here. ICU capacity is at 89%. Acute care 93%. Ventilators 64%. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: They don't even bother to put elderly (65+) in ICU in significant numbers here. They triage before they ever hit capacity.

Since January 31st, 2020, Peel has only admitted 93 seniors (65+) into ICU. During that same time period, 432 of our seniors died with COVID. The death rate is 365% higher than the ICU rate for seniors. And there's 176,820 seniors (65+) in Peel circa 2016. That represents a death rate of less than 0.2443% of our senior population.

If you look at acute care hospitalizations only, it's 621 ever hospitalized among 65+. Giving us an acute care rate of less than 0.3512% of the 65+ population.

The proportion ever admitted to ICU is 0.0526% of the 65+ population.

Doug Ford, like Jason Kenney, Brian Pallister and Francois Legault, is a bitch made pussy who is too afraid to make tough decisions. It takes balls to say, "yeah some people are gonna die, but it's a significantly small portion of the population and the number of people who are going to die or have their lives ruined from lockdowns is going to be larger. There is no win-win scenario. There's going to be trade offs either way. And I think it's the lesser evil to get our lives back."
