Do the police have the authority to randomly pull you over and ask you why you're out now with their stay at home order? As they say that Ontarians must only leave the home for essential purposes like going to the grocery store or pharmacy. Since I am not an essential worker, I don't need to drive very often for essential reasons. The local supermarket is within walking distance. The local big box store is a short drive. So I have to drive my car every now and then to charge the car battery and use up my gas. A friend of mine had his car battery fail multiple times since March for not driving enough. So I often go on the road to drive my car just to burn my gas and charge my battery. So you're saying the cops can pull me over and give me a $880 ticket for doing this even though I never actually leave my vehicle when I do this?
Yes, and not just a ticket. I read up to possible jail time and all "up to their determination if your reason to be out is valid or in violation of the order."
I had another friend just argue with me "well it's the same as it was in the spring." No it's not, if you believe that the government now isn't pushing for increased pressure, more fines, more arrests, you've been living under a rock since last this began last year. It's about imprisoning us for months in the middle of shitty cold winter so that when spring comes we'll be willing to do whatever the fk they demand of us to be allowed to go out when and where we please.
