Enter the soft bigotry of low expectations. There is a certain hubris among modern leftists (and even centrists) that foreigners are incapable of agency, and therefore cannot be held accountable for their actions. We dismiss their actions the way a bad parent would with a child or perhaps a misbehaving pet.
Contrived excuses abound - think of the sexual assaults during the migrant crisis, it was explained as the migrants having a 'sexual emergency'.
If this truck driver were an Anglo Canadian male with white skin, they would have thrown the book at him.
If we continue to accept negligent and violent behaviour from certain individuals and not hold them to the standard for which we expect of 'old stock' Canadians, the eventual result is that the entire society will be pulled down with it.
We all know that the more migrants Canada accepts, the less social cohesion exists. Poor social cohesion is good for a growing government, as it gives them the mandate to take more of your tax money and your freedoms.
According to The Canadian Press report, a grieving father of one of the hockey players Scott Thomas submitted a letter in support of Sidhu.
“I know for a fact that he’ll never drive a semi again. I know for a fact that if he could take back what happened that day he would in a heartbeat. He would trade places with any one of those boys,” said Thomas.
Thomas said he’s more concerned about regulations that allowed the inexperienced truck driver, three weeks on the job, to get behind the wheel.
“We just always felt that the deportation part of it shouldn’t necessarily apply. He’s a broken man. He’s broken psychologically and spiritually, and to deport him now would just add to the suffering to him and his family.”

Tim Hortons is shit.
Are you calling Scott Thomas’s dad a simp for being able to forgive? Or me for asking the question?
