It's OK to despise people for their religious beliefs, look at what's happening here at home. The theme for 2021 - everybody hates Christians, even other Christians.
Yeah there's a lot of western naivety about that region. Most Canadians think ISIS was this novel movement culturally, like a heavily bastardized super-salafism that only comes around once in a lifetime. They don't realize that What ISIS wanted to build was essentially what they already have in countries like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Afghanistan - a Sharia state. What ISIS does is normal for that part of the world.
We caught some insurgents red handed burying an IED in the road right in our path one day. We captured them, sent them back to Kandahar Airfield for imprisonment, and then later that day the brass just cut them loose. Gave 'em cab fare and sent them on their way, because the opposition and the media were having their pet "detainee scandal" at the time.
And then we had to continue on with our operations knowing that IED emplacers were being caught and released.
I wonder what the brass at KAF thought we'd do if we saw that IED team again, now knowing that capturing them was no longer an effective means to remove that threat from the battlefield, thanks to the Liberals and their media lackeys.
Also, we need a comprehensive WMD program for dealing with the next ISIS/Al-Qaeda flare-up overseas.

The Chinese for me
We also gave China cold weather training recently. What the hell is our military doing?
