I think a lot of Canadian women don’t really want to do the traditional wife role anymore, they want to go to work and make their own money. This is a major cultural change from 50-60 years ago. The liberal dominated education system channels nearly every woman into some sort of post secondary education, which will often delay marriage and childbirth another 5-10 years from the former marriage age (19-21) back in the 1960s.
My grandmothers married around 20 years old and stayed at home with the kids.
Thanks to feminism, women now HAVE to work if you want a chance at owning a home... unless you want your family to live in poverty. Not talking about rural areas.
