I landed in Canada last week and my government has put me under house arrest, and today some idiot from public health called to ask questions and make sure I'm being a good little prisoner. She said if I didn't answer her questions they would send a police officer. I said what law? She said Quarantine Act. So I said ok explain why YOU GUYS get to violate Section 14 of the Quarantine Act by sticking things up people's noses? She said I'm not going to address that. I just kept arguing with her, and she never got to ask her stupid questions. I said I'm not "refusing" to answer questions, and before they send a cop can they have someone else please call me, because she was not doing it for me. So we'll see what happens... Fuck this shitty government. My taxes are paying her salary!

I've quarantined 4 times. Twice I received calls from people. I received many "robo calls" thanking me for keeping Canadians safe. Only during my last quarantine in January did they send someone to check on me: an SQ police officer. He asked for id, made sure I was there and then left. Ridiculous.
I should have let it go to voicemail. The first time I quarantined a lady called me and I answered her stupid questions. The 2nd time I quarantined they kept calling but it went to voicemail. This time, I've just had enough and I kind of just wanted to let them have it when they called. But you can never win an argument with a bureaucrat. And this one's voice was extra smug and bossy and bureaucrat-y
My wife came to Canada a few weeks after me. Where she didn’t answer the phone or fill in the ArriveCan form for a couple of days they sent threatening emails. Such silliness.
