Maybe they should learn to code. Then they would actually become buyers instead of baristas and UBI'ers.
Programmers don't make that much money in Canada tbh. All the good money is stateside. Also kind of fucking rude to shame service people, they're doing the best they can in a pretty shit job market, especially in programming and tech where there are minimal jobs in most of the country for entry level workers. Also have you seen what they are teaching kids in college these days. It's a fucking waste of time to get a degree. I don't blame people in service and most of them are shut out from better careers due to requirements of bachelor's degrees in dumb shit. You're probably a boomer if you don't understand how the world works for young professionals. I'm not saying I agree with UBI, but cut baristas a break, and other service workers too, you don't know what they're doing, they could even be in school. Don't be an asshole.
Well if you actually read what you're replying to, you would see that's mislead. You can learn programming on your own and strike good jobs by working on open-source and building a portfolio. Unless you don't have the IQ for it, then you should work construction, forest or mines. Servers are at the bottom-tier of shit jobs, even if they work hard and have nice smiles.
You still shouldn't be disrespectful to servers, a lot of them are probably in school or working towards a career. You can sit and program open source shit for hours but at the end of the day you have to pay the fucking bills.
