He's a worthless, backstabbing traitor. You don't get to come back home after intentionally torpedoing the party in the last two elections out of sour grapes because you lost the 2017 leadership election. Traitors who do shit like that are the scum of the earth and aren't to be trusted. He burned his bridges with the CPC permanently when he did that.
He wasn't liked or respected within the CPC caucus/staff even before he quit. He had a reputation on the hill for being vain, entitled, lazy, undependable and having astoundingly terrible judgement. Scheer only kept him on the front bench for a while because he was popular with a segment of voters, and he even fucked that up and had to be sent to the back. Over fucking milk.
Whether you want to admit it or not, the vast, vast majority of Canadians associate Bernier and the PPC with white nationalists and QAnon crazies. The last thing the CPC wants or needs is for Bernier to come back to the party and bring that stink with him. At this point, with PP recapturing all those anti-lockdown votes, the CPC is better off with Bernier out in the political wilderness, attracting all those white nationalist/Qanon idiots away from the CPC. Bernier can have that 1.6%. It's worth it for the CPC just to have another party out there on the extreme right-wing fringes being a lightning rod for all the racism accusations. They make the CPC look moderate by comparison.
Bernier wouldn't come back even if they asked him to. He's content with his current grift: Having his social media guy post an incendiary tweet or two a day to keep his base fired up and mailing donation cheques in, maybe show up at a rally once in a while, then keep cashing those $100k/yr "PPC party leader" salary paycheques, on top of his $80+k/yr MP's pension. Why the fuck would he want to cut his pay in half and have to go to work every day when he can make twice as much doing nothing but showing up at a rally once in a while? How do you not understand this whole PPC thing was a grift? Bernier isn't interested in being an MP again. He gave that up when he quit the CPC. He has no intention of ever stepping foot in the house of commons again.
Should bring him back to the party, he has a lot of experience.
LOL

If it wasn't for Bernier the Conservatives would still have O'Foole as leader and they'd be moving left. He did a great job.
If you think keeping Trudeau in power is "doing a great job", why don't you just vote for Trudeau?
Things had to get worse before they can start to get better.
O toole would have been a disaster. Now maybe we can actually get some real conservatives in power.
