I’m not a huge beer drinker, but yeah we got pretty good beer here.
I understand. I am not a daily drinker and have one here and there in the evening. I have been to Toronto and recall crossing from Buffalo, NY into Canada. It was so clean! As one who really hates litter, it was refreshing. Now, that was 2008, so maybe that has changed.
Unfortunately it has. Not as bad as Buffalo, (although I have only been around the hockey arena). As a result of diversification, most immigrants land in Toronto and stay there. For decade white Canadians have been a minority there. The subway smells like piss. Taxi drivers barely speak english, you have to point at the Tim Horton's menu to order. Omar Khadr and his likes live there. Dating has always been horrible there, back in the day. It's worse. Gang violence of course, being blamed on gun owners instead of gangs. They vote Liberal and got Trudeau elected. If Toronto was in the US, it would be a typical Democrat city.
I was aware Toronto was like a blue city here in the US, but that is fast for decline. At the time I was there, Chinese were an abundant immigrant. There was no shortage of food and shops of Chinese taste. I recall the gripe at the time was so many Chinese.
My hope and my gut instinct is this current tide of insurrection will turn. I see signs this is the case in how the fed is handling things and the people. People can take just so much. They tore apart the cities and went into the smaller towns and neighborhoods. Ken and Barbie is St Louis, whatever their beliefs, exercised their 2nd Amendment.
Word is that with todays Provo, Utah protest, where a protester shot a car and driver, has activated armed Mormons to show up tonight. There are these things starting all over. Freedom is worth fighting for.
I am not advocating for deadly clashes, just saying it will likely happen.
I have seen a few posts on td win about this. Sad state of affairs. It underscores why a friend in Toronto wants to come here, not that its currently great in major cities, however, there is a lot of rural and towns.
