Most small towns in Canada are alright, especially in Alberta and Quebec. I'd say Calgary is probably the best major city but I live in Calgary and it's not conservative enough for me. The mayor is a huge liberal cuck for example and he got elected so that should give you an idea that Calgary is no safe haven for conservatives.
Unfortunately, if your job requires a decently sized city then you're pretty much out of luck in Canada. Maybe Quebec city itself? I wouldn't know.
Nenshi was first elected when the old guy didn’t run again. He said the right things, said he was a fiscal conservative and would build the airport tunnel. The tunnel was built, but the fiscal conservatism wasn’t strictly followed. He was re elected after the floods in 2013, he held all the press conferences from the emergency management centre. Some second hand things I’ve heard have put his exact role in that crisis in doubt, but most people where quite happy about how he handled it. His last re election in 2017 was a shit show. Nenshi won 51.4% to 43.7% with the other 8 candidates rounding things out. The big thing in 2017 was the expansion of the LRT system, which has now been approved, but half the distance (SE Calgary to downtown, instead of SE Calgary to the northern edge) for the same price. Nenshi has proven himself to be a winy cuck that cant take any criticism. His ass was saved by the 2013 floods and the residual good will that he had built up. That good will is gone now.
Election isn’t until September 2021. There’s rumours floating around that he won’t be running. But another year in clown world can lead to anything. Taxes keep going up every year as council tries to keep its budget in check with the decreasing tax revenues from the down town. Council has thus far refused to make any real cuts. If they are saving the cuts until next year, it could work, or it could be too little to late. There’s lots of pissed off people, if the election was this year the mayor and half of council would be gone. If they continue to be virtue signalling do nothings then their seats are not secure for next year.
