"Playing sport in a male team made it clear that I just don’t have the same socialisation as the men. Women are competitive, but not in the same way as men. It slowly stopped making sense being a guy.""
This is an important takeaway. Men and women are different; however, she's attributing it to socialization not biological differences which is unfortunate. This kind of mindset is the kind which leads to people trying to force equality on the genders. The thought process being that if they socialized men and women the exact same then there wouldn't be any differences and differences are bad because equality is these people's god.
Do you have a link to any of those? They would make for a fun read I imagine.
That was a great speech. Her words of wisdom are needed now more than ever. She basically called out mainstream media perfectly when she acknowledged that she wasn't listening but she was anticipating. That is the biggest problem with journalism today. She also called out most of the leftist movements rooted in bigotry when she said we need to all stop expecting to be offended.
What she said about needed to have both sides heard is most definitely the solution and right now our society isn't listening to both sides. We're choosing to listen to one side while cancelling another.
This tedtalk should be mandatory listening in schools.
