Rutgers University is trying to say no one dialect should have preference over another.

The "critical grammar" approach challenges the standard academic form of the English language in favor of a more inclusive writing experience. The curriculum puts an emphasis on the variability of the English language instead of accuracy.

"It's like these people believe that being non-white is an inherent handicap or learning disability…. That's racism. It has become very clear to me that those who claim to be ‘anti-racist' are often the most racist people in this country.

The way I see it we have 2 options:

1. Inclusiveness above all. Allow the students to be lazy. Take no initiative to teach any dialect system. If the student is incomprehensible outside of their own dialect, allow them to simply remain ignorant of other dialects, including Standard American English.

2. Produce educated people that can communicate their thoughts and ideas clearly to over a billion English speakers in the world with Standard American English. Students reserve local dialects for local conversation.

They live in a fantasy world where people can write like 7th graders and still land and keep the jobs they desire.

The woke companies might hire such people, but the first time I get an email written like a teenager's text message will be my last time doing business with any such company, and I don't think I'm alone.
