I have been a liberal ever since I was a teenager and back in my day, liberals were the edgy ones. Nowadays liberalism has morphed into a religion. What attracted me to liberalism in the first place as a teenager was not wanting grown ups to tell me what to do. And now you have fucking zoomer and millennial college kids telling us what to do.
The edgy liberals of 2003-2008 on 4chan who mocked Republicans and thought Ron Paul was cool are either apolitical or Republicans or Libertarians now. And even the Libertarian Party is compromised these days. Ass backward world.
I'm in the same position. Life long social liberal. The far left Woke political religion/cult has been dragging the rest of the left with it. Most of my positiond lean centre leftish but I wont vote for a left leaning party for decades if ever again because of these zealots. They hate the Western world. Well I love the Western world and would rather have Western loving right leaning people in charge than these Woke commie lunatics.
Yeah anyone who wants to learn about what liberalism used to be like in the 90s should listen to the D-Generation X anthem. Nirvana is often cited as the example of that generation. But this was more on the nose and simplistic to understand than Nirvana for people who weren't part of that era (no I'm not trolling. Pro wrestling is ridiculous but as an edgy 12-13 year old, DX was cool. DX even did blackface in the late 90s. They broke all the rules). And no I'm not Gen X. I'm an older millennial. I'm old enough to remember the culture in the 90s. Some excerpts:
You think you can tell us what to do?
You think you can tell us what to wear?
You think that you're better?
We just got tired of doin' what ya told us to do
You know who you're talkin' to?
Well, you'd better get used to the way the ball bounces
You think you're a big man? (Ha ha ha ha...)
Treat you like you're a little man
Yo, tell me what it's like to be half a man
It must break your heart to see what I am
Just stop wanting me to be someone else
Put it away like a book on a shelf
That you can’t read boy
Yeah, that you can’t read little man
Back in 1997 when those lyrics were written, it was the conservatives who were the squares who were telling us what to do, what to wear, who thought they were better than us.
Now in 2020 it's the liberals who are the squares dictating to us. What the fuck happened to liberalism?
In 1990, a 19 year old Kid Rock made fun of Tipper Gore in a rap track "Pimp of the Nation". Imagine a Detroit-based white rapper Republican. And back then he didn't incorporate any rock stuff. That wasn't until a little bit later. As an underground Detroit rapper like Eminem, his audience was mostly black. If Kid Rock was 19 today instead of 19 thirty years ago, he'd be lynched by the BLM mob. Eminem on the other hand is a woke Democrat.
The r/Toronto thread comments and votes were surprisingly based. Silent majority ??
Please abolish prison. Decent people will just start lynching criminals. What are they doing to do, throw us in prison?
Criminals sticking up for criminals. I think it's obvious why they want to defund the police. It'll make their lives easier.
Full Retard Ahead!
