Hey everyone. Interested to hear your thoughts on the conservative leadership race? Who are your top choices??
Definitely not super inspired with the candidates this year, so I am having trouble locking in my ranked choices to submit my vote.

The whole thing is which candidate is the smallest turd sandwich.
O’Toole is Scheers bald cousin that learned a few conservative words and now says he’s “true blue”. McKay is the red Tory that is running on his now 20 year legacy (signing his emails as Co-founder of the Conservative Party of Canada). Sloan is the most conservative of all the candidates, which of course makes him Hitler incarnate in the eyes of the media and unelectable. I’m not sure what to make of Lewis, she must have an actual conservative writing her campaign emails, since her debate preformance was anything but conservative thinking.
With the party celebrating the most members ever signed up, I think the dairy farmers are bringing their new friends to this one. Buckle up.
I don't know what to make of Lewis either. I know a lot of people around here cheerlead for her. She's unmarried, no kids. Her DOB is strangely no present online. She does have over 20 years of experience as a lawyer. Based off her UN internship in 1995 she was atleast 15 then, max 19. Mid 40's. So she's not going to have children.
I have a hard time believing a true conservative woman wouldn't be married or have kids. I straight up don't trust politicians without kids. Macron, Merkel, etc. These people have no skin in the game for how they leave the world.
She's also not born here, and involved in multiple international NGO's. You'd all be rattled if any NDP or Liberal candidate did a UN leadership training summit. Why's it never brought up that she did?
I don't think she is quite what most people on here think she is, and I would take what she says with a massive grain of salt.
I think she's smart. Smart enough to dupe people. She's a fucking lawyer after all. I would love to be proved wrong, but I don't think she's half as conservative as she espouses.
re: dairy, as near as I can tell none of the candidates this time around are touching the issue with a ten foot pole lol
They've all drank the milk!
Lewis and no one else. Her policies are great and she has the bonus identity traits that would terminate 80% of trudeaus attack vectors. That WOKE zealots and his party would be seems in the headlights over what to do about this completely revitalized Conservative party. Imagine the first elected female PM is a black immigrant Conservative patriot . That blows all the Woke bullshit to pieces. Lewis loves Canadian culture and western values. She thinks multiculturalism is insane. She just needs to improve debating and she is good to take the Turd down.
my only thoughts is that I wish Max didnt have a hissy fit and leave...
i.e. we dodged a bullet, really
As much as I agree with some of his rhetoric/ideas (I'll never take a politician at their word), he was extremely shortsighted on that front, which probably shows he would have made some major gaffs as PM.
Basically this.
He went all snowflake cause he didn’t get his wish and instead of just showing some maturity and shutting the fuck up and went off to obscurity. He’s nothing more then a headline to the left when they wanna make fun of the right.
If you learned anything in 2016, it's that elections have been meddled in and are easily rigged in favor of certain candidates.
If you think Canada is somehow exempt from this phenomenon you're likely watching global news and/or a frequent viewer.
Figure it out.
Canada hasn't had any leadership. Canada hasn't had any independence. Canada is China. Canada is afraid. It looks for validation from screeching mobs and UN political talking heads. We lag behind innovation and continue to outsource and import labour. A laughing stock on an epic scale. A meme.
Every single candidate says the exact same things just under a different shade. There is no more choice. Never was. Pandering.
I ranked my ballot as follows:
He's too easy to cast as a villain and will never win. Pointless candidate. We live in Canada, land of gay unicorns and coddled idiots, not Hungary.
I honestly don't expect the CPC to accomplish anything, so it's a moot point, but Sloan would have been my choice. O'Toole is otherwise crappy, but his disgusting stunt with the high-heel shoes really sealed it. McKay has always been a red tory. Lewis is only allowed to use the nationalist word because she's not white, and I don't think OWNING THE LIBS is a good reason to vote for anyone.
Sloan has been consistent and active, and did well at the debates in both languages. I'd say he could go harder against immigration, but you can't have everything, and he won't win anyhow.
