Canadian post secondary education is mostly a scam. There are some programs which still lead to a career, but the universities have little to no incentive to ensure their alumni get good jobs, so the students are misled into developing rote memorization and superfluous essay writing as their primary skills.
Then there are the ‘party schools’ where parents subsidize 4 years of binge drinking and promiscuity. After 4 or 5 years, you can pretty much guarantee the average woman at one of these degree mills has a tattoo, a pile of debt, and more partners than she can count.
I watched a documentary yesterday about what is so wrong about our education system. Students are taught to think of a degree as an extension of high school. That is completely wrong. By high school, students should have been streamed appropriately based on their interests and talents, and only a select percentage of elite students should be allowed to attend University. Switzerland does this and had 17 and 18 year olds completing workplace apprenticeships in offices, learning to be a tractor mechanic, and graduating into a high skill, high paying jobs.
I believe the government needs to close down a number of University programs because they have lost their sense of purpose and only serve to indoctrinate the next generation of marxist whiners.
The student visa scam is just another aspect of it. Places like Sheridan College chock full of pajeets and pakis living ontop of each other and working under the table well over what they are allowed. Thats another type of scam to let more immigrants in.
I disagree, did you attend high school in Alberta? There is options for you to complete trades while completing your high school diploma. In Quebec, you can complete an entire undergrad for 15,00;0, therefore you may work and pay off your undergraduate degree, not to mention a masters/law degree cost half of what it costs in Ontario. Therefore depending on which province and university you attend, you may get quite an experience.
Also, apply for scholarships!
International students pay 10times more than what we pay!
