I said to my wife a month or so ago that O'Toole "feels like such a Canadian, like I've grown up knowing and seeing men like him"
And I still think that is true, but I think more of it is he is in touch with being a regular middle class, normal citizen. I get that feeling from him in a way I never got from Harper or Scheer... and I like it a lot. I think that kind of presence will be useful for him. He comes across as basically straight forward... while if you listen to Trudeau for more than a couple minutes (or interviews, can take some time to get past the "nice" Woke words) the guy starts coming across as preachy, sanctimonious, robotic, and putting on a fake gravitas voice to sound serious and important.
My hope is that more Canadians will see this and like that straight forward, what you see is what you get, presence over the elitist condescending thing Trudeau is once you get past his initial shine.
