Our media continues to fearmonger about this shit. Meanwhile what is Canada's deficit over this shit now? What is our unemployment rate and often overlooked not in labour force rate now? How many businesses (especially small businesses) permanently shuttered over this shit? How many suicides? Opioid overdose deaths? Think of the social isolation, the mental health crisis. They want children to be out of school forever. Dr. Tam wants you to wear a mask during sex. Dr. Bonnie Henry wants you to stick your dick in a glory hole and pray it's not another dude sucking you off at the other end.
Unlike most conservatives, I'm actually happy they are swabbing grandpas with runny noses. Because the low case fatality rate among granpas exposes how much of a fraud the coronavirus fearmongering is. If they only tested health care workers and people who are hospitalized, the reported cases would be a lot less but the reported case fatality rate would be a lot higher.
I don't believe in conspiracy theories. I don't think this is a world government thing. After all I pulled all this data from the Ontario government's website. I think the problem is two-fold.

I think this is a media hype thing. The media is getting a ratings boon from coronavirus and so they want to serve you coronavirus, black cocks matter and anti-Trump news all day every day. And the NPC voter buys into the fearmongering of the media. I wouldn't be surprised if the media (including the Canadian media) stops talking much about corona on November 4th if Trump is out. Even the Canadian media has an interest in getting Trump out.

A lot of these government medical officers of health like Dr. Tam, Dr. Bonnie Henry, Dr. Eileen de Vila, etc. Dr. Anthony Fauci in the United States, etc. are probably trying to milk the coronavirus thing due to their personal narcissism. They like their newfound attention and don't want to lose it and their relevance. These medical officers of health don't seem to be particularly concerned about the harmful impacts of shutdowns and social distancing laws on the economy and the social health of our society. Dr. David Williams is one of the more reasonable medical officers of health (and even he is very cautious). Sweden's Dr. Anders Tegnell is the one virologist I've seen who has shown concern for the economic and societal impacts of stay at home orders and mandatory social distancing.
Much like SARS before it.
A more suspicious person than me might note that due to insufficient measures, SARS went from world-destroying plague to benign disease that doesn't hurt anyone in a matter of months.
Which of course, was what made it so interesting to bio-weapon researchers because it was a plague with initially dire effects, but that rapidly became safe withing a relatively short period of time which makes it ideal for warfare.
Provided that it doesn't fizzle out too soon, of course. Slowing down transmission increases the time that SARS would have taken to become harmless.
This US election is so fucked. The only consolation is that at least it isn't 1912 and the anti-interventionist isn't being gifted a win.
(Not that I wouldn't have gone Bull Moose, of course.)
Yeah I'm guessing the reason why SARS "disappeared" from thin air is because they didn't test much back in 2003 and so people who had mild symptoms never got swabbed. And so it was assumed that SARS went away. And with flu/pneumonia killing a few thousand per year, it's very easy for a mild mutation to fly under the radar with no testing.
SARS in the early days was fucking terrifying.
The people who got it at first are still crippled to this very day. SARS fucked up a few thousand people very badly.
SARS didn't go away, it just mutated to the point where it became utterly harmless. Everyone has had SARS at this point, without being sick or even noticing.
Any rapidly mutating virus becomes inert at a blinding pace because it's far more advantaged by not fucking up the infected. Every mutation that kills someone, or in the case of SARS fucks up the lungs to the point where someone can't produce a powerful cough prevents itself from being spread.
The way that disease progressed from deadly to harmless rocked the worlds of epidemiology and bioweaponry.
Imagine a disease that went from deadly pandemic status to nothing in a matter of months? Imagine a disease that could trash a country for a couple of months yet be gone by the time the invasion was ready?
That's SARS.
The federal Liberal and provincial Ontario government would have to be flat-out retarded to deliberately destroy the economy and fuck over the lives of young people for a virus that doesn't even want to kill granpa. I see this more as a case of the government cucking to public pressure from a paranoid populace that watches too much fear porn in the news. How big is the deficit now? This deficit is going to cause massive inflation. It may even obliterate the Canadian Dollar in forex markets. I especially don't feel the Ontario Conservative government in particular has bad intentions. Doug Ford seems good intentioned. The problem is that Doug Ford is afraid of losing the paranoid 905/416 suburban Karens who watch too much CNN and MSDNC who got him elected in the first place. In 2018, a number of suburban districts swung from Liberal to Conservative.
905ers and 416 suburbanites are conservative to the extent that they like low taxes. But they prioritize safety over liberty. Liberty is more of an American and prairie conservative tradition. Mississauga's city council voted 11-1 for mandatory masking. They voted overwhelmingly for social distancing bylaws with crazy fines. I would get fined $325 for running a red light in Peel. But $880 for enjoying a pizza in my car with friends outside my household back in early June. Brampton's Mayor Patrick Brown, a Red Tory, is telling Ontario's government to impose more restrictions on Peel. Quebec's conservatives (CAQ) are going hardcore with big fines for masking. But you can run a red light and get a much smaller fine. Alberta conservatism is a very different culture from 905/416 or even Quebec conservatism.
Dr. Theresa Tam, Dr. Bonnie Henry, Dr. Eileen de Vila, Dr. Anthony Fauci, etc. however seem to be economically illiterate and don't seem to give any fucks about the quality of life for young people. There is something up with them in particular. I think Dr. David Williams in Ontario is secretly based but he is facing a bunch of public pressure right now from liberal media and liberal epidemiologists for being "too lax." So he is skating on thin ice and is afraid of showing his power level like Dr. Anders Tegnell did in Sweden.
If our government is trying to build a Communist Utopia, they are accomplishing the opposite of what they set out. Communists believe in state ownership of capital (USSR/Cuba) or worker ownership (communes) of capital. The wealthy investor class can make money off passive income from Canada's housing bubble and their investment portfolio while the workers breaks their back or languishes in unemployment thanks to our government's over-reaction to the virus. The wealthy are also the ones most likely to be able to work from home and order delivery everything. They aren't as impacted by the lockdown and social distancing as the proles.
It was our provincial and municipal governments that implemented the stay at home orders and social distancing. The federal jurisdiction only really covers the 14 day quarantine law and the borders. Doug Ford and Francois Legault head conservative parties. They are not Marxists. The problem with our federal government is that they enabled these stay at home orders and lockdowns by firing up the money printer. And Dr. Theresa Tam has no real power but she influences NPC voters negatively with her paranoid delusions and she is out to lunch.
The government decided to shut down due to public pressure. And then the government felt compelled to double down and triple down because they don't want to admit that they over-reacted. Whenever politicians admit to making mistakes, the opposition opportunistically pounces on that and it hurts them in the polls. Imagine the field day the Conservative Party would have if Justin Trudeau admitted that we should have had more lax measures. It would also hurt Doug Ford and Francis Legault politically if they admitted to over-reacting as this is perceived as a sign of weakness. When really admitting to mistakes is very mature and takes a lot of courage. When the dust settles and society looks back at this shit, we're going to see that we inflated the hell out of our money supply and destroyed the economy and destroyed many lives, especially young lives, for a virus that ultimately wasn't going to kill or even hospitalize a lot of people. A big stink is made about 197,237 dead Americans. But the United States of America has 331,383,387 people. 0.0595% of America is dead. Meanwhile what? 1.25% of America dies in a year from all causes? Maybe less than that because of immigration but still.
I think Doug Ford is in the business of trying to keep his job at all costs. Doug Ford is afraid he's going to lose the suburban swing voter if he doesn't tow the line. There are already loud calls from the blue check marks to fire Dr. David Williams, Ontario's medical officer of health. Sweden's head virologist Dr. Anders Tegnell received death threats for refusing to cuck.
My dad is a Conservative suburban home owner who wants lower taxes. I just explained to him that the CFR% in his age group and gender was 1.4% in Ontario last month. And even after I told him that, he expressed concerned about the 213 new cases in Ontario today. He is terrified of getting this virus.
Fear is driving people insane. Even Tories are losing touch with their own data that they publish. It's unreal. Every statistic I pointed out came from raw Ontario government data. It amazes me how many people tune out statistics. I showed these statistics to my sister (who is a doomer) and she left me on read and didn't reply. Statistics can be used to push an agenda. But it is an undoubtful fact the case fatality rates are low at least now. Even for elderly people it's dropped a lot.
