Hear hear..

As bad as this is, right now it's probably a good thing he is near them. It sounds like he could be suicidal at this point. If not for that I think he should be gone from that entire place and somewhere else to heal.

One thing's for certain, it's going to take decades to erase this damage from him and he'll never be fully over it. It's amazing to me how one event in life can completely ruin everything and destroy a whole family (a drunk driver killing someone, a false accusation, etc.)
