Modern cars built with composite materials that are GLUED together. Welding is becoming less common as composites replace steel.
Just another reason to not trade in a perfectly fine, but older vehicle.
Glue a car together and expect it to routinely run 100 km/h or more without shit flying off of it. Uhhh, whose idea was this?
The engineers after the government decided to impose arbitrary and frankly impossible to meet fuel standards. Everything in the automotive world is dealing with standards imposed by politicians who have no clue.
