How is it? Are there any airlines at all allowing you to fly without a mask? What about in the Executive First Class style pods?
Assuming Trump wins, I want to make plans to get the fuck out of the country for the winter. I am thinking Florida and then on to one of the multiple areas in the Caribbean that are opening up is the best bet, but I would love to hear ideas about potential sane destinations and ways to get there. It is so hard to wade through the propaganda to see what is actually happening in individual countries.
No masks on staff. Excessive demands for use of sanitizer. A karen at boarding screeching to wear masks, full on display of deteriorating mental health. Blue eyes get pulled from line and told they are anxious/suspicious to create some cause for search/drama. Flight attendants are getting confrontational and using the 'speak to the back of the class voice'. 100s of chinese coming in, few going out. Colonization almost complete. I still have the videos on my phone.
Every 5 minutes a woman was doing announcements about masks but she was screaming and what id consider a poor job of keeping people calm and orderly. If she was trying to incite panic she was doing her job effectively
Regardless of Trump's winning it's not a bad idea to get out of county. Capital question is "to where?". In canada a killing factor is harsh climate and governments neutering people's ability to even heat their homes. We are witnessing monumental collapse of societies under heavy wraps of globalism. Last place is open oceans but even that freedom is diminishing
The whole world is fucked. If you want to go 50/50 on a sailboat, I am open to ideas.
Crazy idea, but some of us might have to fight and die for a better future, rather than sail away like a fucking coward.
It's not cowardly to not fight for coward nation. Snitches, cop-callers everywhere and some even make business out of it. Photo radar anyone? Contact tracers? Your dog barking reported by anonymous neighbors?
Thanks. Some 10y ago ocean going sailboat was my plan and it was a prudent plan. Few years back law of the seas changed by globalist but still better to be on open water than in open prairies. I am considering your offer
Vietnam. Handled the pandemic better than anyone. Cost of living is great. Governement isnt heavy handed and theyre very family oriented. Hanoi has little to no violent crime but theft is ridiculous. Liveleak uploaded a video of a woman crashi ng a bike attempting to steal a potted plant and after crashing she went back and got the plant,/ This is why they win wars though hahaha. No political correctness. No blm lol
I flew SIngapore-Montreal thru Doha on Qatar Airways in June. Toronto-Detroit on Delta in August. Chicago-Montreal on United in early September. Last week I flew Montreal-Toronto-São Paulo (where I am now) on Air Canada.
The Qatar and Air Canada flights were in business class. The Delta and United flights were in economy.
On Qatar business the pod is enclosed. They refer to it as the suite. No mask is required while in the suite with the door closed. Masks are required when walking about. The crew were excellent and kept the toilets clean in between visits by passengers. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Air Canada requires masks be worn at all times except when eating. In fact, my mask slipped under my nose while I was sleeping on the YYX-GRU leg and the flight attendant woke me to tell me to fix my mask. Ugh.
Delta and United both have mask requirements. I complied and had no one next to me on either flight. I got around it a bit by nibbling on snacks most of the short flights.
I guess I am a contrarian. I like traveling, especially these days. The planes haven’t been crowded. Airports are empty, there are no lines. It’s really stress free.
(Much of my travel has been family related, but I enjoy it and still find time to enjoy and relax).
If you can get by the scary stories I highly recommend Brazil. Summer is coming. The Real has dropped and it’s cheap. (The people and food are great.) There are no longer any entrance restrictions. I’ll go back to Montreal next week and probably return in December for Christmas and head to the beach. São Paulo currently feels better than Quebec in terms of how they are dealing with Covid.
Do note that upon return to Canada there is a two week quarantine requirement.
Thank you. Exactly the type of info I hoped for.
The Qatar QSuite looks like a good option. I just checked fares and the are extremely reasonable on the order of 5k CAD$ return.
The flight attendant waking you up to fix your mask is exactly the type of bullshit I want to avoid.
Brazil would be excellent. YVR to GRU fares in business at about 2k CAD right now.
I have been an avid world traveller for many years now. 100,000k miles or so per year, mostly for work, but I am now semi-retired. This bullshit is driving me nuts. I may have to suck it up, be a man, and put on a face diaper, but I am really trying really hard not to.
Sounds like we are in similar situations. Problem with QR Is all their flights go thru Doha, which is rather out of the way. The AC option to GRU sounds great for the price. But tbh AC is one of my least liked airlines. But at least it’s an option. Good luck.
