Young people don't think that their wokeness and generosity will pay them back later, they don't think about it much at all, that's half the problem. Its more shallow, young people are fitting in with their peers, their opinions aren't opinions at all, they're fashion accessories. Young people say one thing and then do something else, their beliefs hardly enter into the equation. This reluctance or inability to put two and two together is the reason why they're all whacked out on anti depressants and xanax, they're fucked and they know it, but they think there's something wrong with themselves.
