I agree it's going to be about the potential cuts to public services and social programs. This has always been a heavy voter group that's also most separated from the effects of the economy (while also hating the private sector). If they use the "not paying their fair share" strategy, that'll quell tax hike anger amount - with the belief it's not going to affect most people.

I'm just not convinced the Liberals won't Wiemar it. It's only when the tangible effects are felt, and inescapable that it'll matter. If the liberals have any out, no matter how garbage, I think they'll take it, including burying us further into a hole, stoking fear, and whatever else.

The effects of the global economic destruction will also eventually realize itself here more significantly (also causing echos; longer term problems like 2008). That will make it real, although also serve an an excuse. It will still take some time until this happens.
