To be fair Quebec is like the only place in Canada that has a nation.
Quebec can wave the fleur-de-lys but for the rest of Canada we're shamed if we do the same with the union jack.
The question is why Canadians allow this, why Quebec can celebrate their Frenchness but the rest of Canada we can't do the same with our Englishness. Why Quebec can celebrate figures like Samuel de Champlain and François de Laval but the rest of Canada we're told to be ashamed of John A. Macdonald and to mock Queen Victoria.
The fact of the matter is that our English heritage is dead while the French heritage lives on in Quebec, and because of that they have their own nation while the rest of us are doormats.
I have the same question here for people who say they don't fancy the British ensign, whilst the the Quebec flag is literally the naval flag of the Kingdom of France and it's plastered everywhere in Quebec.
