It's caused by a radical right-wing fringe who've been legitimized and emboldened by a charlatan presenting them with a sham party which in turn has given them the impetus to attack the mainstream conservative party - because they naively think they can make something of their joke party if they "bring down" the CPC. So now the CPC is being attacked from both sides instead of just one, and the sum effect of that is a declining CPC and by extension an increasingly unassailable LPC.
