Technically the Squad of SEALs were decked out in local garb and not in uniform (thus unprotected by Geneva convention). I reallly hate to say it, and people downvote it because the truth hurts :but from a law-of-the-land perspective, it was a legal self-defense action from a home invasion.
It would be considered a "black on black" or two groups of "irregular combatants", which actually makes the settlement ten times worse.
