To young people wanting to get into it, I'd highly recommend a move to the USA.
It's sad, because there are so many talented Canadians and we have so many natural resources.
Don't believe that line that companies are selling that they "just can't find any good skilled workers". It's total bullshit. If a company posted an ad for a good solid job, they'd have 2500 resumes in 3 or 4 days.
The field that's really stayed competitive is coding, but it's mainly based on people jockeying for the highest salaries. But, just wait until that field gets saturated. It's going to fall just like the IT field did.
