I'm rural and I would estimate 10-20% around here are really into the Wuhan fear porn but about 99% mask compliance in stores. I live in an area where a lot of Loyalists were granted land after the American Revolution and I think there is a culture here of following the government and that we are better than those rebels in America.

I feel like a lot of people are sort of stuck, going against the government/media is not natural to them but they know its bullshit too.

On weekends I can tell who the city people travelling through are pretty quickly due to the mask compliance :)

spez: My rural small town/village is working class, outside of stores it feels normal but other small towns like Apsley or Bancroft there was real wuhan flu fear. I think any rural area that is trendy with city people will affect it as well.
