My thoughts personally.

Within my sphere, I have gay and trans Conservative people who do NOT espouse anything near what the Liberals/Democrats purport to be the set list of criteria required to be a gay or trans person.

Everyone, no matter what group they fall in, adheres to a Liberal or Conservative ideology or some sub-set there of.

Find your sub-set and be happy there but remember that the main group as a whole will never match your exact views ever.

If it does, you are part of a dictatorship.
