The Judicial branch of a government's sole job should be to uphold the constitution and laws. When corrupted by activism it becomes an elite class of our unelected rulers with tremendous power to rework our society in their own (typically progressive/leftist) image which we've seen in the States where the court pretty much always adhered to originalism/constitutionalism until they started ruling in favour of progressive causes like Abortion, and here where our ambigious constitution always allowed our court to overrule every measure against crime and drug use the Conservative government tried to implement but everything Trudeau and co. do is A-Ok. The Brits seemed to figured this out by not delegating as much power to their court.
