Ditched the power-tripping grocery stores a long time ago.
Masks do not prevent catching anything (as stated on ontario government website). As for "slowing the spread" - I could write a whole blog about that, but you can research it yourself and find out how flimsy an argument that is.
The costs of wearing masks include social through disconnects and lost communication causing stress, as well as medical through mask contamination, rebreathing aerosols, and possibly decreased oxygen.
Most people's masks don't fit and literally do nothing. Because of the risks, and the fact that masks afford no protection, medically, I am safer not wearing a mask.
Fundamental issues here: other people's health is not my responsibility. My health is my responsibility.
Mask mandates are unscientific power-grabs that have no basis in how we have set up our system of personal responsibility.
If you want to be healthy, you can. And if you are healthy, you have nothing to fear from COVID19. There's still a lot of gaps in medical knowledge, but this much is pretty clear: avoid processed food, junk, pollution, and be careful what you put on your skin. Exercise. Get natural vit D from the sun in safe amounts. Avoid stress. And you will be healthier than 90% of people.

Fundamental issues here: other people's health is not my responsibility. My health is my responsibility. I say this as someone who experiences negative health impacts from others wearing fragrances. There is no law against people wearing fragrances, even though it causes me harm. Even places with fragrance-free policies, such as some hospitals, find it almost impossible to enforce. The precedent in this country is that each individual's health is their own responsibility. I must take care of my own health.
So I really think the risks, and actions, should be up to the individual to take. Even a doctor has an obligation to inform you clearly of the risks, and you accept them and take responsibility. You must make that decision for yourself or your dependants.
Mandates are unscientific power-grabs that have no basis in how we have set up our system of personal responsibility.
If you want to be healthy, you can. And if you are healthy, you have nothing to fear from COVID19. (And if you experience long-lasting effects, you are similar to Myalgic Ecephalomyelitus sufferers which seems to occur after a variety of virus-caused illnesses. Awareness and esearch into this chronic illnesses is almost non-existant, which is really a total shame.)
