She is a statistical outlier. Only 57 people in their 30s in Peel Region (probably 1.5+ million people with all the immigration) ended up hospitalized with COVID. And the number of them in ICU hooked up to a ventilator is likely a lot smaller than that.

The odds of this happening to you are very low. So are we to just stay home and not go outside and live our lives for fear that we could be a statistical outlier like her?

I hear that ventilators puncture your lung. I would have punched a doctor/nurse in the face before I'd let them put a ventilator in me in my 30s. I think the ventilator does more harm than good. I would rather die gasping for air than puncture my lung with a ventilator. Look at all those deaths in New York with the ventilators.
