spez: I've theorized that part of this over the top emotional response "we have to do it even if it just saves one Granny" is a sub-conscious reaction/compensation for the heartlessness with which so many in our society have treated their parents in the last few decades.

I live in an old farmhouse built in the 1880s, guest one day says "this would be the parlor" where we were sitting. Where they would have a viewing and funeral when a family member died.

My wife knows my wishes, do NOT take me to the hospital until further notice and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure her or die in our bed one day when it comes (whoever happens to go out first).

Fuck this put my Mom in a care home because I like to go on 3 or 4 big vacations a year, love cruises and posting the pics on facebook. "Lookit me lookit me look how perfect and awesome my life is".

They are guilty now and trying to take it out everybody else. Fuck 'em I'm not guilty, I have done nothing wrong at all (in regards to colds, flu and the state of our seniors/healthcare).
