I'm on day 23 of my 14 day quarantine after getting back to Vancouver.

I did the 14 day symptom report on the arrivecan app. I got the call on day 4 to make sure I was staying isolated. But there's an at-home test kit you have to do on day 8 over webcam with a nurse (not as nice as that sounds unfortunately). It got picked up by Purolator the next day (who must be the worst of the couriers and probably gives Canada Post a run for their money in shitty service). It goes to Richmond to get analyzed at a local lab, and it comes back "damaged specimen" on day 11.

It says on the government website that this test, only from Switch health, has to come back negative for your quarantine to end, even if it's been 14 days. They say will automatically send another one if that happens. Of course they didn't so I call Switch and they send another one. From Toronto. Gets here around day 13. Picked up day 14. Tested on day 17 because they didn't do it the day it arrived, then it was Canada day.

It comes back again damaged specimen. I call Switch again. They didn't send another one automatically of course, and they tell me to call public health (they didn't even send one this time after the call). Public health tells me to call Life Labs. Life Labs is either full to the brim or they don't care. They don't answer my emails and calls, and even if I go down there, I'm not sure how I get them to administer a test and how to send that to public health.

I'm done caring. I'll contest a ticket, and if any judge thinks I deserve a fine from that, then whatever.
