How accurate are these polls though? Leftists are notorious for cherry-picking the right demographics to get the answers they want and make it seem they are winning in the media, only to have a Trumpslide or something. Plus, people don't respond accurately to many of these polls, especially if face to face and knowing how "racist" it would be to do so. I think it was posted here that we had more immigrants than births or something. If people knew that stat I believe they would change their tune. I don't think people actually know the stats and I think many are sheltered from immigration, whether they are rural or living in enclaves. I don't think making immigration an issue would be a vote killer and would help in the long run anyways, assuming demographically it isn't already too late. It's true we need to define what limiting is and the like. Certainly it should be discussed. Probably best if framed in terms of unemployment and making sure Canadians get jobs first. Help avoid the "racist" cry. Talk about low income Blacks being shut out of jobs for immigrant hires.Edit Overall, one-in-three (34%) say that this is the right level. A plurality of past NDP (43%) and Liberal (47%) voters believe the current target of 411,000 new permanent residents is the right amount. One-quarter of past CPC voters agree (23%).On the other hand, a plurality of 39 per cent feel that the target is too high. This proportion rises to a majority in Alberta (50%) and Saskatchewan (54%) and is the opinion of nearly two-thirds (64%) of past Conservative voters.One-in-eight (13%) Canadians say the 411,000 target is not ambitious enough, rising to one-in-five among past Liberal and New Democrat voters. Depends on who and where you are asking.
