I firmly believe China is buying up the game stuff to create scalping and they use bots to so in order to make capitalism look bad. They have done this with mansions across Europe where they buy empty mansions in mass by one or two companies then sell them at a higher price (much higher) to screw people.
We moved in 2013 in Oregon and couldn't find a place for a long time because houses were being bought as fast as we were touring them. In many cases they were bought as we were heading to look. We wounded up in a mobile home because of it and we avoided it as long as possible though at least it isn't a bad neighborhood or anything we just didn't want a mobile. So we went full circle around the wagon.
Homes in Oregon are being sold for WAY more then they are worth for the conditions they are in and this was in 2013. Now from what I've seen it's gone even WORSE! What was a 150,000$ home (usually pretty crappy with siding problems,etc) is now worth 300,000$
I'm sure our modern 100,000$ mobile (which we own now) will be sold for more then that these days though we have fixed it up too over time and it turns out we are the only ones to have taken care in our area. The landlord recently told us doing what we did actually made property values go up a bit and created some hope in the community. They inspect annually to make sure your yard isn't trashy or anything that it shouldn't be.
