I have not worn one in stores for several months. Most bigger stores (Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, LCBO etc) know the deal. The bylaw language requires them to challenge someone without a mask. When you reply it's for health reasons they leave you alone. If it's another shopper who challenges you, tell them the same thing. If they persist, tell them to speak to the manager. Try it, it works. Note: I do make exceptions for small mom & pop stores who are just terrified of being shut down for non-compliance. I go in maskless and if they object I reference the exemption clause. If they insist then I'll just leave, but at least it's raised their awareness a little bit more.
