They have near total control of the government, but the government is incompetent as all hell.
I think our biggest hope is that they will continue to fall over themselves trying to implement any of their plans beyond the cities.
So they do a deep fake of the queen, and then a really a crappy deep fake that looks worse than anything I've seen in the VFX industry and release them both at the same time.
Now anyone who calls out the deep fake is ridiculed for talking about the wrong video. It's genius really. They are starting up the gaslighting campaign to make claiming a video is a deep fake sound like one of those "conspiracy theories" whiles simultaneously proving that deep fakes are a real thing.
NPCs will be primed to believe only the videos their media overlord tell them are real, and readily accept that anything they are told is fake is fake.
If anyone still thinks this is some kind of sick joke, they aren't going to do well in this new age of lies.

I've been expecting for some time, I even have it marked on my calendar, that the super-serious-second-wave-paranoia-extravaganza will begin mid December.
They will blame rising cases on all the Americans who celebrated thanksgiving, that it was basically a tragedy, and blame anti-maskers for causing the numbers in Canada to rise (of course). The lockdowns will be just like the first round, only now it will include fines if you are caught traveling and possibly, for walking the dog. Actual road blocks and traffic checks at county lines will be announced by Friday the 18th.
There is no real reason for this post, except posterity I guess, as I sit back to see if I am wrong or right.
