Grey-Bruce count ON: a week ago at the park there were people and kids everywhere. Everyone was clearly happy to be "allowed" back outside in the summer. At the farmer's market I saw one elderly person wearing a mask, because the order only applied to indoor businesses. The new "Masking order that isn't really an order, but forces businesses to pretend it is or face $5k fine" had gone into effect, but it didn't seem anyone was buying it. I was at that time, mildly proud of the spirit of freedom and not giving a shit about made up scare tactics.

Seems they just need a bit of time to get the latest fear update. This week's paper was filled with bullshit propaganda "Look how many people are obeying the masking order, isn't it great!" completely ignoring the actual protests, beyond one little blurb from the health commissioner about how no amount of protesting would ever change his mind. What protesting? A conscientious reader might wonder. Surly if there had been some protesting it would have made the news?

Come today, a single week later, the park was practically empty, and the farmer's market was filled with masks. Still not required at all in outdoor venues. But people wearing them everywhere they go anyway. Children being marched around with face diapers, in 26 degree weather, in a county, two counties that still have ZERO deaths or hospitalizations. The cowardice on display is disheartening and utterly disgusting.

Mask edicts were nothing more than a reset button on the panic and fear porn. At this point all these people are being emotionally abused by the government and media. And there isn't a damn thing to be done about it. Just a couple months away from actual flu season returning, and lots more regularly scheduled death and hospitalizations to draw more fear porn from.

It seems the masks were very effective at what they were designed to do.

They only just opened the playground yesterday, the beaches a couple weeks ago, and now, immediately after the county announced that they had been expecting 1000 DEATHS, that maybe it would be better to open back up fully. Oh, but businesses should heavily consider requiring masks.

It's like some kind of actual pandemic is causing people to lose their fucking minds, and it's not testable.
