I’ve lived in Asia for many years. We have a place in Jakarta but are looking to relocate to Bali. For the past few years I’ve split my time between Canada and Asia. This will continue. And given the current situation here I’ll spend more time in Asia.

English is spoken widely throughout SE Asia. For an expat professional there are many options. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok are all possibilities.

Finish your degree and head to SE Asia. Most places there are completely merit based with high pay and low taxes.

I got my tickets to Jakarta. Leaving April 7. I’ll do my quarantine there for a few days (at a reasonable price) and then fly off to Bali. I won’t be back until sanity returns and certainly not before the ridiculous hotel quarantine is lifted. For Jakarta the hotel requirement is 5 days. The prices include dr visits and PCR tests. And we can select from 2 star to 5 star hotels. It’s like booking any trip. You look online and book the place enough want at the price you want.

Amazing how a few people years ago got it so right!
