Dear Women,

We sincerely wish you a blessed and powerful Women’s Day. While we’re dying on construction sites, breathing coal dust in mines deep underground, slaving away 100 hours a week to invent new gadgets for you to play with, spending weeks at a time away from home to truck products to your favourite store, and storming defended beaches to defend your rights, we are thinking only of you.

It’s totally fair that you get an entire day to yourself, where all the corporations are tripping over themselves to show how feminist they are and how much they adore you because you have a pussy. It makes sense, after all, you have to deal with so much.

Take scholarships. You get them all. There’s none for guys. Shouldn’t you get more? I mean, you have tits. Surely that’s worth more money?

And what about cushy office jobs with air conditioning (the non-sexist kind) and high salaries. It’s not fair that there are still a few men working in offices. This women’s day, let’s think about how to get the rest of them out digging ditches for low pay in the hot sun. Empower women, amirite?

We all know that most health care research goes towards women’s issues, but did you know that not all of it goes there? Let’s change that! This women’s day, let’s get every last cent of money that exists put into women’s issues, even if those issues are completely trivial. Hate Mr. Potato Head? Fuck him, here’s $1 million.

Finally, this women’s day, let’s remember that the most pampered group of people in the history of the world totally deserves another whole day to pat themselves on the back over.

While you’re doing that, I’ll be over here working, not giving a fuck about any of you on this day in particular.

So Vera Etches, Ottawa’s unelected health bureaucrat-cum-dictator, has announced that Ottawa is heading back into the “red zone” in the next week. We just opened up 10 days ago.

Her and the media continue to blame people, chastising us like children. “Come on, people, behave!” As if it’s our fault that they’re locking us down. It’s a convenient scapegoat, but fuck them. Every dictator blames their own people. Fuck fuck fuck fuck them right in the ass.

The French Revolution was arguably the bloodiest period in Europe until the First World War. Kicked off in 1780, inspired partially by the American Revolution but mostly by a series of underlying domestic causes, la Revolution saw four governments come and go, a bloody period of terror, invasion by four European countries, and the founding of an Empire under Napoleon whose redrawn borders caused the Great War a century later. Could Canada (and the west) be repeating history?

Let’s look at the root causes of the Revolution.

Historians unanimously agree that there were four root causes of the revolution in France: sudden overpopulation (particularly in urban areas), a collapsed economy, massive unmanageable government debt that devalued the franc, and draconian government control of the population. These pressures on the civil population exploded when America won its war with England, and led to the storming of the Bastille a few years later.

Between 1760 and 1780 the population of France rose rapidly, from 18 million to 26 million. With a devalued currency and massive debt, the government was unable to support an economy that could handle this population increase. The economy tanked as prices for food, housing, and even shoes skyrocketed. Millions became impoverished and fled to the cities. Agriculture died off as a result and starvation set it.

Sound familiar? The west is seeing an unsustainable population boom fueled by immigration, particularly to Europe, but also to Canada. Prices are unable to keep up and overall poverty levels are on the rise. Housing is particular hard hit, especially in Canada. Like France 200+ years ago, most of the new population is located in urban areas. Agricultural output is on the decline, and although robust supply chains exist today, they mostly lead back to one country who is particularly hostile and cynical to the world: China. If China wanted to, they could easily turn off the tap and thrust the west into a new age of extreme poverty, a la France circa 1779.

France faced massive currency problems at the time of the Revolution. The government of King Louis XIV had devalued the value of the gold franc in spectacular fashion: nearly 35% in only 10 years! They did this through massive government debt which benefitted mostly the landed gentry and Church. There were few public works programs, but fantastic amounts of gold went into the coffers of the nobility. They raised taxes until even the peasantry were expected to pay up to 400% in some cases; more than they could possibly earn in a lifetime. To tackle the debt, which was owed mostly to London merchants, the government devalued the currency by stripping gold out of the coins and replacing it with copper and tin. Life became unaffordable for anyone but the landed super rich. The merchant class was particularly hit, as their businesses closed down in droves (further reducing the goods and services available to everyone below nobility). This explains why Napoleon was so heavily supported by the bourgeoisie when he arose a decade later.

Look at the west today, through the Canada lens (Canada being the canary in the coal mine). Our government is in dire straights and racking up the kind of debt that would make even Louis blush. Of course, our money is no longer backed by gold and thanks to sovereign monetary policy and floating fiat, we can print away deficits...up to an extent. In order to control inflation, more and more taxes are required. Eventually those will have to reach unaffordable levels. We face either a currency crisis, with a worthless dollar, or unsustainable taxation that drives people out of the country. Neither outcome is good. Both put us on the road to poverty and collapse. The rest of the west isn’t far behind.

With draconian lockdowns that destroy small business, the elites of the 21st Century are doing what elites of every century always do: think in short-term goals to enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else. The mistake that elites in France (and America) made in the 18th Century was to beat up on the bourgeois class; the very people who run the businesses and drive the economy. These business owners have the most to lose. They know how to organize, they have some capital, and they are mostly respected and adored by their communities. We see this Liberal government (and their “conservative” provincial stooges) beating up on small and medium sized businesses like never before. These people are ripe to get behind a fearless leader — a 21st Century Napoleon.

In the end, France exploded into revolution when even the army turned against the King. The First Republic was founded...and unfounded, which led to Robespierre’s bloody head-chopping Terror. When France’s neighbours smelled a weak and chaotic target, they invaded, and France managed to hold them back through drastic war measures which led, ironically, to dictatorship under Napoleon. He was the man who not only fought off the invaders but went on to conquer all of Europe and created a new French Empire. He brought in the Napoleonic Code, whose laws and system of government still run Europe today. He ended the chaos and terror and established the Continental System, basically a free-trade Eurozone for the continent that allowed people, money, and goods to travel freely between European nations (minus the British, of course). Napoleon arose because of the Revolution and the insanity of the Louis dynasty.

Every revolution goes through a period of murderous purges. It’s insane to think that a revolution here would be any different. But could that happen here?

Of course it could. History shows that people have a “boil over” point. Time and again societies have overthrown corrupt and out of touch rulers when their lives become too miserable. It happened in Greece, Rome, Egypt, China, England, America, France, Russia, Germany, Spain, and almost all of South America. In almost every case, there is bloodiness and chaos which leads to a strongman taking power. To think it could never happen here requires a special sort of stupidity and arrogance...the kind usually reserved for rich elites, Kings, and clueless Prime-Ministers.

This particular government is amazing. I don’t mean that in the starry-eyed vacuous way that a teenage girl would find an Ariana Grande concert amazing (especially without all the pipe bombs). Instead, I mean “amazing” as in absolutely, dumbfoundedly incredible in its corruption and complete disregard for even the most basic of laws and ethics that bind this country together. From acts of outright in-your-face corruption to gross violations of ethics to blatant hypocrisy to terrifying regulations, this government is out of control. All this can only mean one of two things: either they are completely corrupt, or they are complete idiots.

For starters, let’s look at the Trudeau government from a completely non-partisan angle. Imagine, if you can hold your nose long enough, that you are a visitor from Switzerland and have no clue about the history of the Liberal party or Canadian regionalism or past politics. Look at the Trudeau government from this lens.

The first thing you might notice is that Trudeau has a minority government, garnering less than 28% of the vote in the last election. He didn’t even win the popular vote. Okay, so minority Parliaments are quite common around the world and usually require some sort of coalition-building with the opposition parties in order to function.

But that’s not what you notice.

Instead, you see a Prime-Minister exercising complete and total power as if he had a popular mandate and no fear of elections. In fact, his ballsy “I’m the boss” style reminds you a little of Vladimir Putin, who never has to worry about opposition parties because they don’t really exist, or at least, the ones that do exist are controlled by him for optics only. Trudeau talks and walks and treats people like he’s untouchable. He’s rich and popular and in complete control of a population and its media.

Which is the second thing you notice. The media in Canada is completely held hostage to Trudeau’s interests. They’re constantly getting tangled in their own lies and nobody seems to care. Those few independent media outlets that do exist are harassed and bullied and slapped with egregious fines by government lackies in secret courts. Again, this reeks of a Putin-style of government.

You also notice that the corruption is breathtaking in scale. We all know politicians are corrupt, but most try to hide it. Instead, Trudeau blatantly puts it on for all to see. SNC-Lavallin was one of the most corrupt moments in Canadian history, yet Trudeau brushed it off. Not only was it corrupt, but it was evil. This was kickbacks from a murderous regime who bombed airliners and killed minorities to a firm who wined and dined their head honchos, and Trudeau broke multiple laws to protect them. That’s evil on a new level for a Canadian leader.

Now you see Trudeau’s government skipping the usual legislative branch to push draconian laws through executive order. Canadians can now be arrested and detained in secret quarantine camps without access to a lawyer or recourse to a court of law. We’re beyond Putin at this point. Now we’re in Xi Jinping territory.

Conveniently, the one person who could have stopped him was his bitchy hand-picked boss, the former Governor-General, but she just happened to step down at the same moment Trudeau was imposing a tyranny on his captive population. As a neutral observer, that seems awfully suspicious.

Now let’s stop this observer exercise and look at the facts. Trudeau is clearly not a smart man. He’s a narcissist who can’t speak clearly and requires a script to say anything. Obviously he’s not the one pulling the strings. Which means something more menacing is behind all of this. But what we do know is that Trudeau and his Liberal government has absolutely no regard for the rule of law.

If SNC-Lavallin wasn’t enough to prove it, this COVID pandemic is. Detaining Canadians in secret quarantine camps is a complete violation not only of the Charter, but of every single basic principle of law in every single democratic nation around the world. In fact, it’s one of the bedrocks of modern society. When the state and its government thugs can arrest you and whisk you away to a secret facility without anyone knowing what happened to you, we have gone beyond reasonable measures. We are now in absolute tyranny.

But that brings us back to my original thesis statement: either this government is absolutely corrupt or they’re complete idiots. If they’re absolutely corrupt, it’s because of their disregard for the rule of law and the rights of man. They are complete hypocrites who laugh at things like the Charter and the UN Declaration of Human Rights and international laws. Or they are puppets of something more sinister, in which case they’re too stupid to conceal it, and keep screwing up so badly that everyone can see it. In this case, they’re total idiots.

If it’s the former, and this government is corrupt, then we’re dealing with homegrown tyrants and we have a chance to end it peacefully, through elections and the courts. But If it’s the latter, and this government is simply made up of bumbling idiots doing someone else’s bidding, then we’re in much more dangerous territory. That puts us in a corner, where we must either lay down and accept our fate as subjects of a tyranny, or pick up arms and fight violently for our freedom.

I pray that they are simply corrupt, but I fear that the truth is these Trudeau Liberals are morons, and we’re in for very dark times indeed
