So under General Compliance it says the following:
(4) The person responsible for a business or organization that is open shall ensure that any person in the indoor area of the premises of the business or organization, or in a vehicle that is operating as part of the business or organization, wears a mask or face covering in a manner that covers their mouth, nose and chin during any period when they are in the indoor area unless the person in the indoor area
And then in Section 4 it says this:
(g) has a medical condition that inhibits their ability to wear a mask or face covering;
And then Section 6 says this:
(6) For greater certainty, it is not necessary for a person to present evidence to the person responsible for a business or place that they are entitled to any of the exceptions set out in subsection (4).
So even though Costco has a big fucking sign saying No Mask, No Entry, I can use this clause in Ontario Law to bypass the bullshit?
Yep - haven't had to wear a mask into a store yet. The provincial law actually has tons of exemptions, more than most municipal bylaws. They also allow exemptions for reasonable accomodations of a human rights related issue, which includes beliefs (creed).
Regardless, the only guy who gave me any pushback was some old East Indian geezer at a Walmart who couldn't speak English (surprise!). I showed him a printout of the law and he mumbled something incoherently so I kept walking.
